webvolve no more…

December 4, 2008

Ok, so after a lot of thinking, I made the decision yesterday to desolve webvolve.

Webvolve has spent the last 7 years as a cooking site, but for the past 3 or so years, I had just let it sit there, and hadn’t been keeping as on top of updates as I should have been.

This lead to the site simply sitting there, drawing in traffic and then driving people away. So I decided to do the right thing and move the recipes over here to my blog.

I’m planning a new recipe site in the new year, but that will have a slightly different style and tone to it than webvolve had.

Freekrai.net updated

November 9, 2008

Freekrai.net, my main business website got a big update done today, and part of that update involved moving it from th VPS it had been on for the past 2 years, to hosting it on my main dedicated server.

On the frontend, I changed the look, then redid the content, some pages are still getting rewritten, and some have been removed. Some new services are being offered, and some old services got removed as I stopped offerring them.

I also made mention of a new product that is about to be launched, which I’ll post about here when it launches in the next couple weeks.

I started redoing this site months ago, and after dozens of design changes, ended up deciding on a design that was actually made by woothemes, with several changes to handle how I wanted it to work.

QuickPipe.com gets a new template

October 19, 2008

So, over the past 2 days, I got QuickPipe.com redone with a new template, still a couple things left to do, but I wanted to give it it’s own thing.

I haven’t finished all the changes for it yet, but it’s got a good start happening. The rest will be happening shortly.

Scaling

October 7, 2008

The past few weeks have seen me busy at work on the scaleborg project which is going to be a scalable grid solution that uses amazon s3 and ec2 to create a nice server farm system.

The system will let you add as many servers as you need as you need them.

Built on a mixture of php, ruby and python for maximum flexibility.

I’ll have more on that as I get it out of early alpha and into invite beta which will be happening by early November.

QuickPipe v3.5 launched

August 29, 2008

So, this week has been a busy blogging wise, I moved 3 blogs into one (this blog), and I moved QuickPipe.com onto a new system.

I kept the job board, and all the articles are getting touch ups for the new template which is based on the same one this site is running, but with some changes.

Actually, quite a few differences, and still some things left to do to it before the weekend is out.

Freekrai.net gets a facelift

March 26, 2007

Ok, so today we updated the look of freekrai.net, and we are also in the middle of a few other updates.

Some new sites are in the works as well as new version of sites and over all, the next six months should be pretty exciting :)

Some new additions are in the works for DBStract, as well as a few new projects that are also underway right now.

DBStract.com re-launched

January 22, 2007

Today I finished re-launched DBStract.com, with a fresh new look to it’s front page and a newly redesigned interface for the accounts area.

This site is always growing as new ideas form for what new features users would enjoy and it gets quickly upgraded as I go along.

Looking forward to the next batch of updates to the site which will include features to watch for :)

New Site Launched

September 6, 2006

Hey everyone, I thought I’d make it public that my latest project is now launched.

DBStract.com - This site has been in the works since December 2005, and has finally seen the light of day after months of planning and development. Users of this site are able to create virtual databases to store all of their data online. I have free and subscription packages. Also, I will be adding more features to the site as I go, with several new features planned for this month alone.

Busy…

April 18, 2006

Currently busy on a new project that I hope will be a neat idea and a great success, not gonna get into too many details here today, just gonna say that it will definitely change how things are done on the web.

Been playing with some ajax interfaces lately, they’re pretty cool and I may have to do more with them shortly.

Other than that, just been busy with the move and work and getting ready for my vacation next week. Heading back to Newfoundland for 10 days of relaxation and visiting :)

eComXpo

March 15, 2006

I thought I’d mention quickly that the eComXpo is coming up on April 4-6, 2006 and they have allowed free registration to take part here:
http://www.ecomxpo.com/freepass01.

eComXpo is a virtaul tradeshow for ecommerce marketers, and I’ve gone to the last couple of these shows and have made some good contacts there from both presenters as well as fellow tradeshow visitors so I thought I’d pass this link on to everyone else.
